About Fraser Vineyard

With the help of friends and family, Bill and Bev Fraser planted their vineyard in the spring of 2003.  The Canyon County site, in the new Snake River Valley Appellation, was selected for its steep south facing slope, 2,700 foot elevation and abundant Idaho sunshine.  The vineyard is comprised of three Bordeaux varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot and we utilize a drip irrigation and a vertical shoot positioning (VSP) trellis system.

The wines are fermented in small open topped fermenters and aged in new French, American and Hungarian oak barrels for almost two years before bottling.

The winery is open for tastings every Saturday from 1:00pm-5:00pm through the end of August. Try the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2009 Petite Sirah, 2010 Viognier and Fraser’s newest vintage, a 2009 Petit Verdot (this wine has just won an Outstanding in Wine Press Northwest’s July 5th edition of Fresh Press). The Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah and Viognier won two Gold Medals and one Silver at the 2011 NW Wine Summit.

The Spring issue of Wine Press Northwest named Fraser Vineyard 2011 Idaho Winery of the Year. The wines also received top honors at the October 2010 Idaho Wine Competition at Wine Press Northwest. The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon achieved “Best of Show”, “Best Red Wine” and a unanimous Double Gold Medal. Sadly this wine is now sold out. Two new releases also won Gold Medals, the 2009 Petit Verdot, and 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, and are both up for tasting at our winery location in downtown Boise.

GREAT NEWS: Fraser Vineyard is now open for tastings and wine sales every Saturday from noon to 5PM.
